Fountain House Gallery Gets a Makeover

The year may be winding down, but Fountain House Gallery is gearing up for two red letter happenings: “Mad About Art” and “Small Works.” And, as you may have noticed, we’re hard at work renovating the Gallery to make the space an even better showcase for our artists’ work.

At “Mad About Art,” 100 original works by artists living with mental illness will be offered at auction on November 20, 2014, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. This year’s Art Auction and Benefit will be held in the majestic “industrial chic” setting of 20-foot ceilings, red brick walls, and soaring steel girders at the Waterfront, located in the historic Terminal Stores complex on 11th Avenue between 27th and 28th Streets. At the event, we will recognize two distinguished honorees: William Louis-Dreyfus, The Louis-Dreyfus Family Collection; and Frank Maresca, Partner, Ricco/Maresca Gallery.

We’ll celebrate the Grand Reopening of Fountain Gallery, at 702 Ninth Avenue, and the opening of the exhibition “Small Works: $100 & Under,” with a Reception on December 4, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Delight friends and family on your gift list with these original art pieces that can be purchased "right off the wall" and will fit in a tote bag or briefcase. “Small Works” will remain up and running through December 23. We’re looking forward to being back in business at our spiffed-up quarters, under the leadership of new Fountain Gallery Director Ariel Willmott.
