Artist Jonathan Glass has been a fixture of New York City jazz clubs for nearly two decades. Pen and ink in hand, he uses his vigorous line to portray a jazz show as it unfolds, capturing the rhythmic energy of the music as well as the distinctive persona of each performer. This exhibition presents fifteen selected works, dating from 2012 to 2019, from the artist's vast trove of drawings. Produced in the city’s most illustrious clubs, including the Village Vanguard, Birdland, and the Jazz Standard, some depict widely-known figures, while others represent musicians revered among circles of passionate followers like Glass, who attends multiple shows each week.
