The 2020 Small Works show was initially announced as a presentation of more than 200 works on view for purchase, but the artists of Fountain House Gallery proceeded to go above and beyond – ultimately creating more than 300 original works! Each piece is sized at 6 by 6 inches or smaller and priced at $100 or less.
The exhibition opened with a gala Reception held via ZOOM on the evening of Thursday, November 19, when Gallery Interim Director Amanda Suárez welcomed Gallery supporters, friends, and artists in attendance. Adding an especially festive note to this celebration of art were the contributions of Kane Dulaney Balser and Rivky Grossman, who kicked off and closed the event with heartfelt, live musical performances.

A number of Fountain House Gallery artists were on hand to enlighten guests concerning the work processes and subject matter pertaining to pieces made for this show. The participating artists who entertained questions from guests were: Judith Berman, Cynthia Blumberg, Xandra Breban, Shelia Horne, Issa Ibrahim, Marina Marchand, and Tara Sue Salusso.
Small works can have a big impact, lending themselves to hanging solo or in groupings. Fountain House Gallery artists, who customarily work in a variety of mediums and sizes, continue to embrace the opportunity to create in the scaled-down format of this yearly show, unleashing their talents on fresh mediums and ideas.
